In the first 9 months my husband and I have been married we’ve come across a few great fight-preventing products!

What makes a certain product fight-preventing? Well, I define it as any product that’s solved a little area of contention or two in our marriage.

Essentially any items that have been game-changers made the list. They make everyday aspects of married life and living together much easier!

Some of these products are so simple you might think it’s crazy they made the list, but you know what? If a product has saved us a few little arguments, it’s earned its spot on the list. They’ll do the same for you, too!

So let’s dive right in so you can get your hands on a few of these little problem-solving miracle products!

10 fight-preventing products all couples need

Problem-Solving Products That All Couples Need

Not only do problem-solving products make great gifts (in fact, they’re one of the 7 best gift idea types), but they also make for better relationships.

No matter how strong your relationship is, there always seem to be some little areas of contention. You can easily alleviate some of these with a good product.

Here are 10 of those problem-solving products that you’ll want to consider!

Microwave Splatter Guard

I love my sweet husband, but sometimes he’s just oblivious to the mess that’s left behind. For example, the mess left behind when he heats food in the microwave.

Now I know this isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I’m working every day to be more patient and loving. However, I also think it’s important to find ways to do things that both of you can agree to.

A microwave splatter guard was our golden solution!

It’s an easy and affordable way to keep things neat. Plus, it’s much easier to clean than the hard-to-reach corners of your microwave would be without a guard.

While it’s a cheap product (the cheapest on the list), it’s saved my mental sanity and many microwave messes. It’s a must-try essential!

Beard Trimming Apron

You know how wives have this superpower and can just sense that their husband has shaved? We don’t even need to see his face.

Well… unfortunately, it’s not a superpower. It’s all in the tiny hairs left all over the sink.

They seem to get into all of the little nooks and crannies of the bathroom vanity and are simply disgusting.

To try and solve this problem I got a beard trimming apron as one of my husband’s Christmas gifts last year and we’ve both loved it!

It’s similar to the hairdressing capes you wear when you get your hair cut but with suction cups on the ends instead.

They stick to the mirror and collect all of the hair as it’s cut off. It keeps things so much cleaner and is super easy to use, everybody wins!

Clean Dirty Dishwasher Magnet

Are the dishes dirty? Clean? Is that water on top from the dishwasher running or not?

I’m sure you’ve both asked and been asked these questions hundreds of times. I’m also sure you’d be perfectly happy if you never heard them again.

A clean/dirty dishwasher magnet is such a simple but ingenious solution to this frequent problem!

Simply slide the plastic cover to the left or right when you start or unload the dishwasher. This will indicate whether they’re clean or dirty and no one will have to ask again, they can just check the magnet!

Electric Blanket

There seems to be one person in every relationship who is always cold, stereotypically the wife—and I’m no exception to that stereotype. I freeze in the winter, which is a problem because I can’t sleep if I’m cold.

It’s really made building our own house in our owner-builder program fun, particularly because we started in November. Gotta love winter construction!

My husband? The exact opposite. He can’t sleep if he’s too hot and prefers to be cold when he’s sleeping.

How exactly does that work in one bed? Lemme tell you, an electric blanket is the key to both of us sleeping comfortably.

I can ‘pre-heat’ my bed so it’s nice and warm on my side while his side stays cooler. It’s a system we’ve been using from the beginning! In fact, it’s one of the tips I go over in my 13 Things You’ll Learn in Your First Month of Marriage post.

It’s a great way to make sure you both get great quality sleep!

Magnetic Clutter Organizer

I hope it’s not just in my house, but papers always seem to stack up no matter what I do! You get the mail, clip a few coupons, buy a sheet of stamps, print a recipe, etc, and all of a sudden there’s clutter everywhere!

Cluttered countertops drive me crazy, so one day instead of getting irritated when I had to consolidate the paper stack to clear off some counter space, I bought these handy magnetic organizers!

I keep them on the side of my fridge and they work wonders to keep the clutter to a minimum, off the counter, and out of the way! Everything is still easily accessible, just tucked away neatly for when you need it.

Hanging Hat Rack

Most people have something that they tend to collect. I enjoy buying new clothes and shoes while my husband prefers collecting hats.

When we go on vacation he loves bringing one back as a souvenir, so needless to say he’s got a collection. With so many hats and nowhere to put them, they end up stacked together on some closet shelf hardly worn, out of sight, and out of mind.

I gifted him this handy over-the-door hat rack and it’s been extremely useful and accessible!

His hats are now nicely displayed and easy to find—no more searching for a specific one—and I appreciate that they’re not all stacked up by the front door! Once again, a win-win!

Collapsible Laundry Basket

Before getting married I owned one single plastic laundry hamper. When my husband moved in, I quickly realized that wasn’t going to cut it if I wanted to go more than a day or two without doing laundry.

This collapsible laundry basket has been the best choice for us! On laundry day it’s great to have a basket that’s always ready to go—just pop it out and fill it with clean clothes.

It’s an absolute must, especially if you don’t have a lot of space. When you’re done with it you simply collapse, tuck, and store it away. Genius!

HDMI Splitter

In this day and age figuring out how to get the most out of your HDMI ports is a common issue, especially for newlyweds moving in together for the first time.

With his Xbox and DVD Player, and my Nintendo Switch, Google Chromecast, and Xfinity Flex, the 3 HDMI ports that were on the TV were no longer going to cut it.

This HDMI splitter was the perfect solution, and it works great!

It does exactly what it says it will and we can use all of our techy toys without having to unplug something from an HDMI port to plug in what we wanted to use.

No more griping about not being able to use your device without fishing for the dusty cords behind the TV first! That’s definitely a hassle you’ll thank yourself for skipping out on.

Laundry Sorting Hamper

Now I know I already recommended a collapsible laundry basket, but hear me out: you need this laundry sorting hamper too. I absolutely love mine and recommend it to anyone!

Sorting through laundry is such a hassle, I hate digging through a mountain of clothes trying to find all of the whites to start a load in the washer.

Thanks to this three-compartment laundry sorting hamper I never have to do that again! Plus, this one has an ironing board on top which makes it another great option for couples living in small apartments who need space-saving solutions.

This is the holy grail of laundry hampers and you’ll wish you bought one years ago!

Instant Pot Duo

I definitely saved the best for last with the instant pot duo. It’s simply amazing!

Before getting married I of course had heard all about Instant Pots and how fast they can cook things, but I was skeptical because I knew that the ‘4-minute pasta’ recipe really took 14 minutes because the pressure cooker takes time to come to pressure before the cooking time begins.

While I still think some pressure cooker recipe titles are deceptive in regards to total cook time, I 100% think an Instant Pot is a must for any kitchen, especially for busy families!

Also, keep in mind that both the pressurizing and cooking time are hands-free, meaning you’re free to cook a side dish, fold some laundry, catch up on a TV show, or do anything else you feel like doing.

Yes, there is additional time required for food to come to pressure, but in almost all cases it’s still quicker than the stovetop or oven version—and often tastes thicker, richer, creamier, or better in some other way (Instant Pot magic, I’m telling you!).

Our Favorite Instant Pot

The 8-quart Air Fryer Instant Pot is our machine of choice, and since we opened the box we make Instant Pot meals 70-80% of the time. Our stove gets dusty during the week, no joke.

The Instant Pot is hands down our most used kitchen appliance and, once again, I wish I would’ve caved years ago rather than waiting until my mother-in-law gifted us one for our wedding! Try it out for yourself, I promise you won’t regret it!

It’s no mystery that relationships are hard, especially when you’re learning to live together. While you’re trying to find better ways to blend your lifestyles together, give a few of these great products a try!

My husband and I use and love all of these items—they really do save us a lot of irritation, time, and stress. They can do the same for you!

Is there a product that has prevented little arguments in your relationship? I’d love to hear about it, please share your thoughts in the comments below!
